Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of university


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, Licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work, Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by the province of work, CPR certification


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English, Cantonese, Mandarin


Work Setting: Nursing or convalescent home


Area of Specialization: General duty, Geriatrics, Palliative care


Specific Skills: Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care, Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions, Provide nursing care, Conduct disease screening, Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff


Additional Skills: Death counselling, Infection control


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning


Other Information:The ability to communicate in Chinese would be an asset. Registered Nurses from overseas with Alberta license are welcome to apply.
