Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of university


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities, Licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by provincial authorities


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English, Cantonese, Mandarin


Work Setting: Home for the aged


Area of Specialization: General duty, Geriatrics, Palliative care


Additional Skills: General counselling, Death counselling, Infection control


Specific Skills: Supervise registered nurses, nursing assistants and other nursing personnel, Co-ordinate nursing services in conjunction with other health services, Ensure that quality nursing care is provided and that appropriate administrative procedures are followed, Assist in the establishment of unit policies and procedures


Additional Skills - 2: Administer unit budget, Ensure availability of supplies and equipment, Assist in the selection, evaluation and professional development of personnel


Security and Safety: Criminal record check


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking


Ability to Supervise: 20 people or less
