Title: Crown and bridge dental technician (Senior Ceramist)  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day

Location: Calgary South East, Alberta (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required


Experience: 5 years or more


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Commercial dental laboratory


Area of Technical Expertise: Packing, Polishing


Area of Specialization: Crowns and bridges, Ceramic or porcelain application


Laboratory Bench Worker Specific Skills: Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Sitting


Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing


Other Information:Non-smoking environment. Must have skill to fabricate porcelain crowns from start to finish: opaquing, butt margin, build-up, grinding/contouring & stain/glaze. Experience creating anterior crowns.
