Title: Drilling rig medical technician (Alberta Registered EMT-A's)  

Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Part Time, On Call, Shift, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening

Salary: To be negotiated

Anticipated Start Date: 2009/08/01

Location: Western and Northern Canada , Alberta (20 vacancies ) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Canadian Red Cross First-Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, Advanced Life Support Skills Certificate, Driver's licence, Ambulance driver's licence


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Driver's Record: Driver's abstract


Work Setting: Private ambulance company, Mining company, Construction company


Specific Skills: Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment, Administer pre-hospital emergency care, Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients, Transport patients to hospital or other medical facility for further medical care, Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided, Maintain ambulances and emergency care equipment and supplies


Security and Safety: Immunization records, Driver's validity licence check


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Sitting, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling


Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
