Title: Health care aide (Care Home Recreation Aide)  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Evening

Salary: To be negotiated, As per collective agreement

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Calgary, Alberta (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate


Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home for the aged, Nursing or convalescent home


Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Supervise patients' exercise routines, Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher


Additional Skills: Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens, Maintain inventory of supplies


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Walking


Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
