Location: Calgary North West, Alberta (2 vacancies ) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR certification


Experience: Will train


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home for the aged


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics


Specific Skills: Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care, Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, Develop and implement health education programs, Provide health education, Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming, Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice, Plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate health education services, Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff


Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Decision making, Continuous learning
