Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): CRGS - Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer, CRCS - Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer, CRVS - Canadian Registered Vascular Sonographer, Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Registration, Certification by a provincial or territorial association


Experience: 5 years or more


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Medical clinics


Area of Specialization: Abdominal sonography, Obstetrical and gynecological sonography, Ophthalmic sonography, Peripheral vascular sonography, Adult echocardiography, Pediatric echocardiography, Adult neurosonology, Pediatric neurosonology


Specific Skills: Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images, Monitor examination to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, Record and store suitable images by using camera unit connected to the ultrasound equipment, Prepare examination reports for physicians, Check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation
