Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day

Salary: $20.00 Hourly for 40 hours per week, Other Benefits

Location: Calgary South West, Alberta (1 vacancy) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required


Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Independently owned business


Area of Technical Expertise: Plastering, Packing, Set-up, Waxing-up, Casting, Polishing


Area of Specialization: Full dentures, Partial dentures, Orthodontic appliances, Crowns and bridges, Ceramic or porcelain application, Chrome castings


Dental technologist and Technician Specific Skills: Shape impressions and reproduce dentures, Prepare and fabricate dentures, Fabricate dental devices, Repair dental devices


Laboratory Bench Worker Specific Skills: Prepare plaster models and moulds, Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases, Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays, Pack moulds to form dentures, Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys


Additional Skills: Perform supervisory and administrative functions for the dental laboratory, Maintain and order supplies


Essential Skills: Document use, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Continuous learning


Other Information:Registered Dental Technologist License required
