Title: River Ridge Seniors Community Licensed practical nurse  

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend, Night

Salary: $22.54 to $27.00 Hourly for 32 hours per week, As per collective agreement

Anticipated Start Date: 2010/01/15

Location: Calgary, Alberta (2 vacancies ) 

Skill Requirements:


Education: Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Not applicable


Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate


Experience: Experience an asset


Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English


Work Setting: Home for the aged


Area of Specialization: Geriatrics


Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients' dressings, Bathe and dress patients, Assist registered nurses with various medical procedures


Additional Skills: Monitor patients' progress and report any changes


Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records


Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Walking


Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation


Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Computer use, Continuous learning
